SEAOCC firms can purchase and set up a table where students will have the opportunity to speak directly with principals and hiring managers. 

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner with Students

Please show your support of SEAOCC Student Night by attending and sponsoring a student. Sponsorship of a student involves paying for a student's dinner and sharing your engineering experience with them during the evening.

7:30 to 8:00 p.m. Speaker Presentation

8:00 to 9:00 p.m. Student Awards Presentations 

  • Student Competition:  Teams from local Universities come together and are given a chance to apply their theoretical understanding of structural engineering to a practical form.  Final judging and prizes will be awarded.
  • Annual SEAOCC Scholarships of $1,500 will be presented to deserving students from each of the six universities in the Central Section.

Kit Miyamoto, S.E., is CEO of a global structural engineering company, Miyamoto International and also a California Seismic Commissioner.  He will discus how countries faced large earthquake disaster and recovered from it.  He will describe how these critical lessons can be applied to California today to increase its resiliency.  This is a critical time for California which will face massive urban disasters and structural engineers will be a key to mitigate these risks.
